I was born in Nürnberg, Germany and raised between Germany and the States. My mother is German and my father is American; they met when he was stationed there with the ARMY. Both of my parents come from big family, each with 5 siblings. I was always surrounded by family; it didn't really matter what continent I was on. Saying I have a close-knit family life is a bit of an understatement. I have two younger brothers; both attending USF - one for marine biology and the other for EMT. I also have an 9-year-old German shepherd/black lab mix named Athena (aka: my "baby").

As I was growing up, I caught my Omi's travel bug. She took me everywhere she possibly could. From the time I was a toddler, I was packing bags and traversing the world. These are some of the best memories I have. Exploring new cultures, trying out different languages, and meeting some pretty unique people has shaped and influenced me greatly.

Along with traveling, one of my other passions is reading. I love reading! Books-a-Million is my second home ... I'm not kidding ... not even a little bit.

My family moved to Florida when I was 13. I'm an alumni of Charlotte County Public Schools. Middle school was at L.A. Ainger and I graduated from Lemon Bay High School. I then attended Edison State College, graduating with my Associate's; and then attended USF, graduating with my Bachelor's. This is my 7th year teaching; 4th year in 1st grade and I absolutely love it! With Mrs. Fleming and I teaming together for our 2nd year, I get to have twice as many kiddos to inspire a love of learning!
